Born into wealth and privilege, Venus Deathtrap wanted for nothing, except acceptance. Mocked by her sisters as a “lesbian” and treated as an outcast, she filled the void by becoming a mercenary pirate. Her only true companions were the Honey Helpers: small alien creatures from her family’s garden, capable of both organic and mechanical healing. Beneath her outer ruthlessness, she secretly dreamed of one day bringing home the perfect man, just to rub it in her sisters’ faces.

Venus’s life began to unravel when she went to work for Sphagnum Mossk the Third, a wealthy mogul dabbling in politics. Hired to eliminate the crew of the Orange Dreamsicle, she successfully forced The Pink Guillotine and Starfly into retreat. When they confronted her over sending a man to their ship’s dyke bar during reconnaissance, she callously murdered 0R4NG3-DRMSCL3 in front of them. Expecting Mossk’s approval and a promotion to official girlfriend, she was instead disappointed to learn he was running for senator on her planet and wanted no public affair.

Meanwhile, Starfy and the Pink Guillotine worked to expose Mossk’s secret sex trafficking operation. They infiltrated Venus’s ship and revealed the truth: Mossk never intended to leave his wife and his family had secretly colonized Venus’s planet (with her own family’s complicity for a large sum of money). What’s more, they revealed that Venus was the last of her kind, able to birth nebulae through her dance. Her sisters, who had always known this, feared her potential and were consumed by jealousy.

Just when it seemed like Mossk’s plans would be realized, Venus interrupted his climactic battle with Starfly and The Pink Guillotine, ordering her Honey Helpers to revive 0R4NG3-DRMSCL3. Turning the tide, she delivered a coup de grâce with a death drop so fierce, it birthed a powerful nebulaic blast in the middle of the field. Weakened, nothing stood in the way for her to finally corner Mossk and snap his neck, and the curse of her comp-het along with it.

Leaving her family disgraced and destitute, Venus Deathtrap chose to atone for their crimes (and hers) by joining the crew of the Orange Dreamsicle and Gorgeous Dykes Industries. Embracing her identity, she committed to a life of lesbianism and vowed to deliver justice to those who wronged others.
